Delete Your Account
Your data, your choice — we make deletion simple.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data from HangOn at any time. This page explains how the process works.
Option 1: Delete from inside the app (fastest)
- Open HangOn and go to your Profile
- Tap the Settings icon (top right)
- Select Account → Delete Account
- Confirm with your phone OTP
- Your account is deactivated immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days
You have a 30-day grace period to log back in and cancel if you change your mind.
Option 2: Email request
Send an email to support@hangon.live with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:
- •Your registered phone number or email address
- •Your HangOn username / gamer tag
- •A statement confirming you want to permanently delete your account
We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days of receipt.
What gets deleted
- •Your profile: name, phone number, bio, profile photo, gamer tags
- •All posts, reels, and gaming moments you created
- •Comments, likes, and reactions
- •Direct messages and chat history
- •Marketplace listings (active listings are closed)
- •Tournament participation records and in-app achievements
- •HangOn Credits balance (non-refundable)
- •Venue booking history
- •All other user-generated content tied to your account
What is retained (and why)
- •Financial transaction records — retained for 7 years as required by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and GST regulations
- •TDS certificates — retained for 7 years; accessible to you on request even after deletion
- •Safety-related logs — content that was reported or actioned for policy violations may be retained for up to 90 days to support law enforcement requests
- •Anonymised analytics — aggregated, non-identifiable usage data that cannot be linked back to you

Important Notice
Account deletion is permanent and irreversibleafter the 30-day grace period. Any pending prize payouts must be claimed before you delete — unclaimed balances above ₹100 will be processed to your linked UPI/bank within the standard 7-business-day window before deletion completes.
